JDA Board Reviews Waterfront Property and Monument Maintenance
July 23, 2026
The Camden County Joint Development Authority Board of Directors met on July 23, 2026, to receive financial and staff updates and consider matters involving monument maintenance and the St. Marys Waterfront property.
Financial and Staff Updates
The Board unanimously adopted the meeting agenda and approved the minutes from its June 11 regular meeting.
Mr. Easterling presented year-to-date financial reports for May and June. He noted that the May report was two months in arrears but that future financial reports would be presented only one month in arrears. The Board voted unanimously to accept both reports.
Mr. Coughlin and Mr. Harper also provided updates on staff activities, current initiatives, and ongoing projects. Written staff reports were included in the Board’s meeting materials.
VFW Monument Maintenance Agreement
The Board discussed a license agreement that would allow the Veterans of Foreign Wars to continue maintaining the lawn and monument on property now owned by the Authority. The VFW maintained the area before the Authority acquired the property and requested permission to continue doing so.
Under the agreement, the VFW must maintain liability insurance. The agreement may be revoked if the Authority sells the property. Following discussion, the Board voted unanimously to approve the license agreement.
St. Marys Waterfront Property
The Board entered executive session to discuss real estate matters. After returning to regular session, members considered two actions related to preparing and marketing the St. Marys Waterfront property for sale.
The Board unanimously approved clearing up to five acres and removing concrete from inside the fenced area. The work is intended to assist with marketing the property.
The Board also voted unanimously to enter into a commercial brokerage agreement with CBRE to market the St. Marys Waterfront property for sale.
The meeting began at 9:00 a.m. and adjourned at 10:51 a.m.
